September 27 & 28 2013 At the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel and Marist College in Poughkeepsie NY!
This fall we will be having our first regional meeting in quite some time (1998? anybody know anything more recent?) with the New England, New Jersey and New York sections getting together in the centrally located, and beautiful, Mid-Hudson Valley. Come for the Physics and professional development, stay for the activities and scenery. Bring a spouse, a special someone or a family, there is plenty of shopping, sites to see and activities around the area for them while you are at the conference and then you can join them afterwards.
We are in the process of constructing the program but we already have a combination of workshops, talks and poster sessions planned.
Programming is being lead by the NYSS President Sam Sampere and if you have a presentation or workshop you wish to lead you should contact him at Syracuse University via email.
The meeting is being hosted by Marist College's Robert Balogh-Robinson and you can reach him at Marist College via email about posters and facilities questions.
There will be day of conference WiFi availability, although security compliance and some limitations on devices may be an issue. If you need internet access during the event and cannot log onto the network, even it is because you do not have a computer, please see the organizers.
A list of local hotels.
A downloadable flyer about the meeting, please pass along the word!
A PDF of the same flyer.
Parking Map - Park in lot 4 or 11. This weekend is family weekend so parking in lot 4 may be an issue. Lot 11 is on the east side of Rt 9 North turn right at Fulton Street. There is a walkway under Route 9 just south of the parking lot that will bring you over to main campus. It comes out very close to our building.
